Pawska – What is it about?

Pawska (A furry pun with the Polish name for Poland ‘Polska’) is an international English speaking furry convention held in the Northern City of Gdansk, Poland. Gdansk is a famous city in Poland, with a beautiful city centre attracting many tourists but also serves as an important logistical hub in the country with it’s large port.

The convention itself will be held for it’s 3rd iteration in 2026. However the first ever Pawska in 2024 was more a major one day furry event, and Pawska only started being a furry convention from 2025 onwards where it welcomed 150 attendees, 65 of them fursuiters from around 15~ different countries.

Pawska will be an ‘old-fashioned’ style of furry convention to honor the older period of the furry fandom (2010-2018) where furry conventions had a higher emphasis on maintaining good and close relations with their attendees, prioritizing cozy and social events and creating a unique vibe that larger cons have trouble replicating.

The background of furry conventions

Europe has a a great choice of great conventions. From big to small – to conventions only a few KM from your doorstep to conventions you need to carefully plan how you will get there. Each one offering a great experience to their attendees and enjoying being able to expand to newer, bigger hotels, attracting bigger names in the fandom and seeing their attendee numbers grow

Pawska has it own visions, that also does include growing the number of attendees it welcomes and seeing how it can expand to see what it can offer to it’s loyal attendees. But there are some specific principles we would like to stick to that we feel some other con’s have forgotten about with how conventions were ran and were perceived by it’s attendees in the older days of the fandom.

The fandom has grown enormously since the COVID period of the world, due to social media and the fandom becoming mainstream. This has led to a huge influx of new furries wanting to explore the world of conventions so they can enjoy the fandom to it’s fullest. Under this pressure – conventions feel the need to grow, to change hotels and to offer more expensive and larger events as expectations of what conventions should offer has grown with this influx. Some conventions that were seen as ‘small’ have seen their attendance grow into the thousands, and have succesfully done so.

Larger conventions can offer discounts on local transport, local attractions, have contracts with local overflow hotels, restaurants and the like. What larger conventions sometimes struggle to offer? An ultra welcoming place, a private, special 1 on 1 relationship with their attendees, certain events that are logistically impossible, and a place where attendees can have their say.

Where does Pawska fit into this?

Pawska does not feel the need or pressure to grow into a large convention to the point it loses it’s special magic and vibe that would be lost if the convention were to go over a certain attendee amount, too large of a hotel and/or too corporate of the hotel.

The Strengths of Pawska
:

  • Max Attendee Cap of 300
  • Carefully chosen Hotel Venue (Good space to cost ratio, Hotel that likes furries, Huge trust and good communication between Hotel and Convention Staff)
  • Previously special unique events other cons do not host (Such as free beer event at Pawska 2025 or events with sword’s like our GoH Sword Cutting Event at Pawska 2025)
  • Clear and fair roomparty policy (While other conventions are very anti-roomparties; We allow our attendees to party loud untill 2AM without the hotel interfering with the night fun that our attendees create in their rooms at the end of each con day)
  • Very low confee due to less emphasis on not needed ‘flashyness’ (Too upmarket of hotel, too many trivial decorations etc)
  • Our Attendees get a much bigger say what happens at the convention, we allow direct communication instead of sending anonymous emails etc
  • Carefully choosing events that are ultra social that are focused on bringing attendees together instead of seperating them (i.e, NOT having convention badge boop box, lonely gaming corners, events where people just awkwardly stand around)
  • Creating a place where attendees can socialize without having to compromise on comfort by creating a dedicated ‘Cuddle/Relax Zone’ where attendees are encouraged to cuddle, rest and talk with each other. (Other conventions can sometimes fail to offer an adequate rest/chill zone and attendees must uncomfortably stand most of the time)

FAQ

Is Pawska open to all furries?

Yes – Pawska is not an invite-only convention and any furry from any country that is at least an adult can Register and attend.

How does Registration Work?

On Registration Day – A link will appear on the Pawska tab of this website that takes you to a registration subdomain. When on that subdomain – you make an account, you select your confee option, pay, wait for your payment to be accepted and then you can access a page with your personal profile and a page to join a hotel room in main.

Is Pawska International-focused or Polish-focused?

Pawska will be an international furry convention, with English as it’s main language and at least 40% of the attendees expected to attend from outside Poland. This means you do not need to know Polish nor do you need to have Polish furry friends to be able to attend Pawska.

Can you explain why I should leave on the 30th on not the 29th?

The 4th (last – on the 29th of Nov) day of the convention is a full con day, with events and entertainment up untill midnight. This means to experience the entirety of Pawska and to get the most out of the convention; you should book your departure on the Monday 30th so you can enjoy the last full day in full. If you leave on the 29th (not possible if you choose the Main Hotel) – you shorten your time at Pawska and you do not get the full value and fun from our convention.

Thus – to experience the convention for all it’s Full Days, book:
Thursday 26 Nov > Monday 30 Nov at your Hotel

For Early Arrival (Very reccomended – to make the con even longer!)
Wednesday 25 Nov > Monday 30 Nov

It’s even possible to add even more Days before and After Via the Registration Portal.

Is it easy to fursuit at Pawska?

Yes! – There will be a fursuit lounge located in Sala D which can be assesed by turning left when walking into the restaurant, where the entrance of Sala D will be located. Sala D will both be for the ConOps and Fursuit Lounge – and the Fursuit Lounge is a protected fursuiter-only area where you can store your suit, grab a drink, grab some snacks and dry and clean your fursuit. You are also allowed to fursuit anywhere you want in the hotel and we encourage you to bring your fursuit!

Are there event halls at Pawska?

The entirety of the hotel will be rented only for us furries. This means you can enjoy the convention and socialize, fursuit and enjoy yourself in any part of the hotel. The Hotel however does indeed have dedicated convention halls on floor -1 and on the main floor. On -1 there are the halls ‘A B C’ which will host different events, the cuddle/relax zone, Dealers Den, the dances and also a private garden. On the Ground Floor you have Sala D which is reachable via the restaurant and will be where Conops and the Fursuit Lounge are located.

How do I upload a badge pic, update my info and upgrade to sponsor tier?

This will all be done via your profile on the subdomain after you have made an account and registered

I want to be in the main hotel – how?

After an account is made and your payment has been accepted, you can visit a page with all the hotel rooms. These hotel rooms will be numbered and will showcase what type of room it is (Regular or Premium) and what the max occupancy is (2,3 or 4 Person). If there is a free whole room left, you can join this room and a password will be automatically made for you so only your roomies can join you without randoms being able to do so. You will be able to see yourself in this room and also can see who is in which room in the whole hotel on this page

I didn’t manage to secure a room in the main – what now?

You can do several things. You can ask a room owner who has a free bed if you can join their room, or wait untill a room has been made free by attendees who have shuffled around the hotel or have left their room for any reason. If you still do not manage to secure a room – You should then book your own room in one of the unofficial overflow hotels in the area that are managed by the hotels themselves and not via us.

So I do not need to be in the main hotel nor do I need to be in any hotel of any kind to attend Pawska?

Correct – as long as you have bought a confee of any kind you now have access to our venue, regardless if you’re in main, in an overflow, attending from your home locally or from a friends house.

That Supersponsor shirt looks awesome! Can I purchase it seperately without Supersponsor?

That is unfortunately not possible – to receive a Supersponsor shirt you MUST choose the Supersponsor option during Registration or upgrade to Supersponsor tier later via your profile if you initially didn’t choose Supersponsor.

I am a non-furry/I am a parent who wants to visit Pawska with my children for a day out to see the furries. Is that possible?

The short answer is No. The reason for this is that 1. The minumum age for attending the convention is 18 years of age – and 2. Pawska is a furry convention made by furries for furries, who want to enjoy their hobby in a protective bubble away from the outside world. The convention is not to be seen as an attraction or as entertainment for non-furries. We reserve the right to refuse admittance to individuals who we think are not part of our fandom

Does the Hotel/Venue offer food and drink?

Yes – The restaurant is connected to the lobby, and you can visit anytime during the convention to enjoy food and drinks with your friends at the convention.

Any interesting facilities at the Hotel?

The Hotel has a Spa on floor -1 where sessions can be book for from the reception – and there is also a smoking box on the first floor lobby. Go to the ‘Hotel Amber’ page on our website to see the full details about the Hotel.

Relax & Cuddle Zone

Enjoying the con – but do your paws start hurting and wish you could sit down somewhere? Don’t have a room in main, but wish to cuddle with someone you like? Pawska invested a large part of the budget into creating our own ‘Relax & Cuddle Zone’ at our convention. One of the halls (Sala C) will be the dedicated social hotspot where you can lay down on air matresses with a good friend of yours to rest your legs without needing to go back to your own room. While you lay down – you can enjoy the vibe of this zone with projectors projecting a nice galaxy on the ceiling above as you cuddle with that great friend of yours or that cute new fursuiter you met earlier. This Relax & Cuddle Zone will be located close to the tea house meaning you are never far away from a relaxing cup of free tea from Feniks as you are resting your legs.
